St. Mary's University (TX) has a great student engagement program called Faculty Academic Mentoring (FAM). This program connects students with a peer mentor and a faculty mentor. The great thing about the peer mentors is that not only have they been through the program, but they are trained year round to work with students and student issues. They come from all walks of life and from all over the U.S.
